No new auctions planned
due to retirement
October 25th will be another huge auction day at Ladock, with over 700 lots entered which has forced us to close entries well before the sale. They include many superb items, particularly carved Oriental jade & hardwood, a number of cracking paintings, plenty of gold and silver jewellery + costume, fine watches and clocks, and a whole array of collectables, some of which have come from an archaeological dig in the war-torn regions of Iraq during the 1950s. The Citroen Saxo 1-owner car with less than 8,000 miles will be offered at 12 noon.
We have some beautiful furniture – from modern light oak tables, chests of drawers and a magnificent dining suite with 8 high-backed chairs to fine bedroom furniture of the 1920s – two large mirror-doored wardrobes, one bow-fronted and both with fitted drawers plus further chests of drawers of the same era.
By holding our auction sales less frequently, we can be more selective in what we take in. Improving quality for our discerning public is essential, and we are not a market for boxes of trash which cannot be sold at a car boot! We have been fortunate to have been instructed in several excellent clearances during recent weeks, and this will be reflected in what is to be found at Ladock at the end of October, so please do not miss this important date – 25th October at 10am!
Meanwhile any of you wishing to support some of our worthy local charities may like to come along to the Diamonds are Forever Charity Ball at the Atlantic Hotel, Newquay, on Saturday, October 18th, to support the work of Marie Curie nurses in Cornwall. Tickets are £35 including a sumptuous 3 course dinner, luxury raffle, auction, fashion show, fun casino and dancing till 1am, so do get in touch with their office at 3 Green Street, Truro for your tickets.
We held an excellent charity auction on Friday, 26th September at Truro Golf Club at 7pm in aid of the local cardiac unit, and where Mark Holden, Nigel Stafford and friends organised a day’s team golf followed by dinner and the auction sale with some truly magnificent lots available on the night and several thousands of pounds being raised for coronary care. Mike would not have survived had it not been for the amazing work carried out at the Cardiac Ward in Treliske earlier this year.
Please keep looking at our auction pages for a number of the interesting lots on offer on 25th October. These are added to from week to week and I’m sure you will find something you need or would like to own if you keep watching.
